ATLAS Project Opening Meeting was Held with the Wide Participation of the Public and Private Sectors under the auspices of the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Mr. Adil KARAİSMAİLOĞLU

The opening event of the “Analysis of the Transport Legislation of Türkiye in the Process of Harmonisation with the EU Acquis (ATLAS)”, which started on January 10, 2022, with the participation of Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Mr. Adil KARAİSMAİLOĞLU and Deputy Ministers, was held on May 24, 2022 at the JW Marriott Hotel.

Before the opening ceremony, Minister of Transport, and Infrastructure KARAİSMAİLOĞLU hosted the ambassadors of EU countries at a working breakfast and informed the ambassadors about Türkiye’s transport policies and future vision.

Besides Mr. KARAİSMAİLOĞLU, Mr. Burak AYKAN, Director General for EU Affairs and Foreign Relations at the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, Mr. Bülent ÖZCAN, Director General for Financial Cooperation and Project Implementation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Nikolaus MEYER-LANDRUT, Head of the EU Delegation to Türkiye, made speeches and expressed their expectations from the project. In addition, Mr. Henrik HOLOLEI, Director General for Mobility and Transport of the European Commission, sent a video message conveying the EU's support for the project.

The ceremony was attended by more than 250 representatives from the EU Delegation to Türkiye, the private sector, NGOs and universities, in particular the senior officials of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
